Bose Solo 5 TV Soundbar Sound System Review
Are you in search of a great soundbar system for your lounge? You have landed on the right page as Bose has always been famous for having a wide range of soundbars with various setup configurations. Like, true surround configuration or virtual surround sound and many more.
Depending upon the model’s selection, you will get a variety of connectivity options with your soundbar. For instance, it may be a wireless network connection, cable, or Bluetooth connection. The soundbar we are reviewing today is The Bose Solo 5. You can consider it an entry-level soundbar and a blessing for those who don’t want to put up the same old lackluster speakers inside their TVs. This new soundbar is easy to use, simple to install, and satisfies your hearing. But if you are looking for a much bigger setup, you must try the Bose SoundTouch 120.
Bose Solo 5 can fit in anywhere.
The shape of the Bose Solo 5 is cuboid, which is the perfect shape to sit flat on any surface, and then it could be placed at any side around the TV. You can also wall-mount the device, but you have to buy a wall mount assembly separately as Bose does not offer any.
In the centre of the speaker grill, you will find a black color trademark logo of Bose. The front is covered by the speaker grill, while the two other sides of the cuboid body are purely made from metal. In order to increase the appearance, the front’s edges are designed a bit curved. You can also find similar construction in the Bose Solo 15.
All the inputs like power jack, RCA jack, the optical input jack, and the auxiliary input jack all are present at the backside of the soundbar, and they all are analog except for the optical jack.
As compared to other modern devices like set-top boxes, DVRs, e.t.c, Bose Solo 5 is not capable of outputting the audio over the HDMI port, as HDMI ports are a better option for providing HD audio streams to the soundbar.
The overall setup is limited to a power cable and a sound input cable, which makes The Bose Solo 5 a simplistic device. Also, it will give a new life to your TVs.
You will also get a chunky universal remote along with the device that contains all the necessary buttons. Except for these buttons, it also includes 6 exceptional programmed buttons that can control six other devices that take remote commands over the IR link.
Sound Performance Is Excellent
If you connect your Bose Solo 5 to HD audio, it will work at its best. But if you have a heavily compressed file, then choosing it won’t be the right choice, and you will face a non-optimal experience.
One of the best qualities that are highly appreciated by most of the people is the presence of the Dialogue mode feature of these speakers. This feature will enhance and sharpen the dialogues. For non-HD audio, this feature may not work as well as for HD audio. But, this feature will do wonders for people with low hearing profiles. Almost all the users have said the only element that makes the Bose Solo 5 worth buying is dialogue mode. Even you will find the audio is a bit crisp and full when the dialogue mode is not turned on,
If you want to check the performance of the speakers look at the speaker’s music playback performance, you will experience a decent bass and crystal clear sound indicating how sensitive the speakers are from inside. EQ is another quality for tuning the speakers as per your liking.
You may find the speakers of this device near the centre of the soundbar, and these speakers can quickly fill up a medium-sized room by building up a lot of volumes.
Is Bose Solo 5 worth buying?
If you have a TV with poor quality speakers, Bose Solo 5 will give your TV a simple and new life. And the additional feature of Dialogue enhancement-mode will genuinely uplift the voice in the video to a decent level. Also, the Bose Solo 5 is convenient for people with an HDTV connection at their homes.
One of the issues is their high pricing because they do not seem to have much value for money. You can have other better options that offer more features, more power, and better connectivity options at a meager price. Say, for instance, the Q Acoustics Media 4 Soundbar is offering a way better sound quality and loads of connectivity options than those Bose Solo 5
If you want to buy soundbars at higher prices, then you can also buy the Vizio S4251w-B4 soundbars. Because they offer a complete package from surround sound to decent volumes level, but in case you like to buy from the same brand, select the Bose Solo 5 sound system for your home to get safe from any disappointments.
